Founded in 2009 by Kennedy Leavens, Awamaki has been honoring traditional craft and culture while creating contemporary designs for over 10 years, and has expanded their focus to include projects that incubate women-led businesses and sustainable tourism projects in Peru. Knitwear is made by approximately 55 women across 3 different cooperatives – Puente Inca, Rumira & Puka Rosas.
