This fair trade skirt features a hand printed typographic "one of a kind" print with subtle embroidery on the front that blends in perfectly with the pattern. As a pull-on skirt, it has elastic at the back, but a flat front so you can wear a tucked-in top for a streamlined look. We say mini, but don't let that scare you - a Mata mini hits above the knee, but isn't super short.

This textile has been printed by hand using traditional techniques, and we celebrate the uniqueness, integrity and character of our handmade pieces. Please allow for variations in pattern and color including shifts in alignment, stray ink, and other nuances that may be different than pictured.
There’s variation between various cuts and styles. Our fit intention is not the same across all styles. Some styles are meant to be oversized, some more form-fitting.

We officially recommend hand washing our woven cottons to keep the clothes in their best shape, since so many things are handprinted, indigo dyed, hand embroidered, etc.
Some customers may wish to machine wash their dresses – while we still officially recommend hand washing, we know anecdotally that washing with cold water on the delicate cycle with the gentlest of detergents seems to have good results. As does line or flat drying, followed by ironing or steaming (definitely no dryer!)
However, the more handmade details, the more we recommend handwashing.
Our organic jersey knits can be machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with gentle detergent.
