SPOT A MATA: PARTY EDITION

It’s always fun when you show up at a party and see people you know.  But for me, it’s equally as fun when I show up at a party and see people I don’t know wearing clothes or jewelry I know.  Of course, I’m referring to party-goers wearing Mata!  That’s what happened to me recently at my friends Mark and Roshani‘s place.  They were hosting a fundraiser for a new organization called The Center for Workplace Democracy.  It was a rockin’ party, and I nearly flipped out when I saw both the Monarch earrings and the Arbor skirt there, too!

Here’s my new friend, Myan, with my old friends, the Monarch earrings.

And here’s my admittedly old friend, Anna, with my other old friend, the Arbor skirt.  I’ve known Anna for several years through a few different channels (JCUA, the Miguel Del Valle for Mayor campaign, and Women’s Workout World), but honestly she had no idea of my connection to her skirt.  She didn’t even realize it was a “Mata.”  I asked her where she got it and she said someone was selling it at the Galleria in Andersonville.  I was like, “That’s us!”

You might not be aware that the Arbor skirt is somewhat of a celebrity.  Check out her appearances on ABC’s Pretty Little Liars and The Middle.
