Spring Collection: Comfortable Dresses

Hard pants, zippers, and tight fits are having a fashion moment…in the back of our closets. We’re looking at you, jeans! This season, give us all of the comfortable dresses.

Style Snapshot: Adjustable Waists

If you’re anything like us here at Mata you’re dressing ultra-comfy these days. You might still like wearing a dress from time to time. And hey - if you’re a pants person, we’ve got you covered too! Either way, our design team has been focusing on making life more comfortable for all of us. For our new collection, that means adjustable waists, made movement-friendly and flexible with lots of elastic smocking and shirring. We still have our fit and flares for those fans, but you’ll see a lot fewer zippers this season than ever before.

Spring also has a handful of styles that can be worn belted or loose. It’s fun to switch up your style, but it also just feels nice when an outfit isn’t restricting. Or, maybe you’re more of a belt-as-headband kind of person, and we are here for it.

This season features more oversized and loose fitting styles than you’ve seen from Mata before. The fitted look isn’t for everyone, and a flowy dress can accommodate a lot of bodies and comfort levels. Many of these styles can be worn out and about, but enjoyed just as much at home too. Sometimes it just feels freeing to literally throw a dress over your head and go - even if the destination is the couch. If you aren’t used to wearing a “loose” look, give one a try! Some of our comfortable favorites that are high on style details are the Catherine, Sohla, and Adelaide dresses.

Comfort is less about being on-trend and more about tuned-in to what your body and mood are needing. We tried to find that balance in designing Spring/Summer 2022 styles that let you feel beautiful too.
