A brand new silhouette worth getting excited about, this blue polka dot dress is knee length, with a zipper at the back, and adjustable straps for a perfect fit. Just like its stylish sister, the faux wrap Lucille Dress, this pretty style has a pleated skirt and hidden pockets. But there's more to the story: this handwoven fabric is a double ikat. Both the horizontal and vertical threads are individually tied, resist-dyed, and then woven together so the dots align. It's a technique practiced in only three countries in the world, and you can feel the craft in every inch of it.

We officially recommend hand washing our woven cottons to keep the clothes in their best shape, since so many things are handprinted, indigo dyed, hand embroidered, etc.
Some customers may wish to machine wash their dresses – while we still officially recommend hand washing, we know anecdotally that washing with cold water on the delicate cycle with the gentlest of detergents seems to have good results. As does line or flat drying, followed by ironing or steaming (definitely no dryer!)
However, the more handmade details, the more we recommend handwashing.
Our organic jersey knits can be machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with gentle detergent.
