Crafted from hand screen printed teal modal, this is the kind of v-neck midi dress that does the dressing for you. The smocked bodice is flexible and comfy, and hidden pockets take your look from the farmers market to a rooftop dinner, or anywhere that calls for an easy wardrobe decision. If you haven't worn modal before, you're going to love it. Modal is a plant-based fiber with a naturally silky drape and exceptional softness: it's the kind of fabric that surprises you the first time you put it on.

CARE

We officially recommend hand washing our woven cottons to keep the clothes in their best shape, since so many things are handprinted, indigo dyed, hand embroidered, etc.

Some customers may wish to machine wash their dresses – while we still officially recommend hand washing, we know anecdotally that washing with cold water on the delicate cycle with the gentlest of detergents seems to have good results. As does line or flat drying, followed by ironing or steaming (definitely no dryer!)

However, the more handmade details, the more we recommend handwashing.

Our organic jersey knits can be machine washed in cold water on a delicate cycle with gentle detergent.

The goal of Indigene is to work with, preserve, and celebrate traditional craft and its masters in India. This objective is most radiant in the pieces from our line utilizing more specialized techniques like Indigo, Dabu, Ajrakh, and Kalamkari dyeing and printing.
